Q: What’s the benefit of doing an online lesson?
A: I introduced my online personalised 1-1 makeup lessons as a result of feedback from my lovely clients on what they actually needed. They told me they often forget things after their sessions. Or they were so busy trying to remember everything by taking notes during their lesson, there was so much more they wished they’d asked me.
So I realised the solution to this was for them to have a video recording of their session. That way, they can constantly watch it over and over again whenever they need to refresh their memory on something. Or to practice what they learned whilst actually having a video tutorial of it that’s specific to them.
This has been extremely well received by my clients and the online sessions have been much more successful and beneficial for them.
As soon as your lesson is complete, you’ll receive your recording within minutes. So you’re actually getting so much more from an online makeup lesson. As you’ll receive the step by step tutorial, your product recommendations. And in addition to this, you’ll also get the recording of your session so that you can rewatch it over and over again as often as you need to and you don’t have to worry about forgetting anything.
This is invaluable as it also means you can be fully present at your session without having to worry about note-taking or forgetting something. And it means you’ll have more time for actual learning and doing and asking me as many questions as you like so you can really get as much as possible from your session.
Q: Do I need to buy products in advance of my lesson?
A: No. In fact, I don’t recommend you buy any products until you’ve received your product recommendations guide from me first. That way, you won’t waste any of your hard-earned money on products that aren’t right for you.
Q: Do I need to buy all of the products at once that you recommend for me?
A: I don’t recommend you buy everything all at once. What I recommend instead is introducing just 1 or 2 new products into your routine at a time.
For one thing, it’s better for your skin. Especially when it comes to skincare products. It’s best to start with one new skincare product at a time and let your skin get used to it first. And also to see if it’s working.
Then once all is okay, you can slowly but surely introduce another product into your routine. If you’re using too many products all at once, it’s hard to know what’s working and what’s not. And it could also cause skin reactions too.
I also recommend this for makeup products. It’s best to practice just a couple of techniques and products at a time so you can get used to them and feel confident at applying them. And then move on to the next technique and product
Another reason is cost. It can be very costly buying everything all at once. So 1 or 2 products at a time is more than enough.
Q: What brands do you recommend products from?
A: I only ever recommend products by natural and organic beauty brands. These are brands that I absolutely love and use products from both in my professional and personal makeup kits. So that’s how I know how amazing they are and why I’m so excited to share them with you so you’ll get the same amazing results from using them too. All of the products from these brands are, of course, cruelty-free and many are also vegan too. When you receive your product recommendations from me, I’ll also state which ones are vegan for you.
Q: Will I learn about natural & organic beauty?
A: Yes. All the product recommendations you receive from me will be from natural and organic beauty brands. And if there’s a particular product or shade of product that you really love from a mainstream brand that you’re currently using, I’m more than happy to find a dupe for you. So you’ll save time and money as you don’t need to do any of that research yourself. Or waste money trying out products that aren’t right for you.
You’ll also receive lots of tips, tricks and plenty of resources from me relating to natural and organic beauty.
Q: Do you think you can accurately recommend what colour foundation/concealer I need without seeing it on?
A: I do a lot of prep work before every client session. I always ask my clients to complete a questionnaire in advance of their lesson so I know what they’re struggling with, what exactly they want to learn and how exactly I can help them. I also ask them to send me a photo of themselves in natural daylight.
So I can absolutely recommend the right shades for you. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients with many different skin tones. So I know what works for each skin tone. Between the photo and the lesson itself, I’ll already know what shades are going to work for each client before I’ve even met them.
As such, I already have a good idea of what products and shades I’m going to recommend for you before your lesson.
Q: Do I need good lighting?
A: If possible, it’s best to have good lighting. However, literally just facing a window will be perfect in this instance. As natural light is the best source of light you can have. However, it’s not essential. As long as it’s not completely dark in the room, the lighting you have will be just fine.
And as I’ll already have seen a photo of you in natural light, I’ll already know what your skin tone is like in advance of your session.
Q: Do I need to be good with technology?
A: Not at all. Because all you need to do is click on the link I send you by email and we’re automatically connected. It’s that simple. And I take care of everything else for you.
Q: I’d prefer to have my products at my lesson, as I’d like to use them. Is it possible to get my product recommendations in advance my lesson so that I’ll have time to buy them and have them ready in time for my lesson?
A: Yes. If you’d prefer to have some of your products at your lesson, I’d be more than happy to send you your product recommendations in advance of your lesson. That way, it would also give you time to purchase them. And they’ll most likely have arrived well in time for your makeup lesson so that you can use them at your lesson and I can watch you apply them.
Q: Do I need to already have some basic makeup skills?
A: Not at all. And that’s why you’re doing a makeup lesson with me in the first place, to learn these skills. So it doesn’t matter if you’re a total beginner or a bit more advanced. You’ll still learn exactly what you need and want to learn at your lesson.
