Self Appreciation Challenge: Something that You’re Proud of Yourself For

30. June 2015

Proud

Heh everyone. I hope that your week got off to a good start. As today is the last day of a fantastic month, let’s finish off in style.  So, I thought that a great way to do this, would be to do one last Self Appreciation Challenge.

We’ve already done two this month. The first one was

Something that You like about Your Body, and the second one was Something that You like about Your Personality. I really hope that you’ve taken some time this month to give yourself some appreciation for these things. It’s so important to be good to yourself and take care of yourself, both physically and mentally. This truly has an impact on your whole body, including skin, hair, etc., and giving yourself some appreciation every once in a while really is so good for your overall well-being and confidence. It’s truly a very nice, and very good thing, to give praise and appreciation to other people, but it’s just as important to do this for yourself too. Don’t you think that you too are worthy of some appreciation?

So for today’s challenge, I’d like you to think about something that you’re proud of yourself for. We’ve all done things that have been completely out of our comfort zone, that’s completely new to us. Yet we go about doing these things every single day, and just take them for granted once we’ve learned them, or settled into something. We should stop every now and then and take pride in the things that we’ve done and achieved in our lives. When we do this, it’s amazing how much more confident we feel about ourselves.

It can be anything at all, big or small. As long as you’re proud of it, then that’s what’s important here. It’s about appreciating yourself and giving yourself the credit that you deserve.  Here are some examples to get you thinking:

  1. Learning a new skill (eg: learning to drive, swim, sew, paint, to use a computer, how to do a winged eyeliner on yourself. 🙂 ).
  2. Moving to a new country.
  3. Overcoming a fear you have.
  4. Making new friends.
  5. Changing jobs or career.
  6. Standing up for yourself against someone.
  7. Asking for a payrise, even if you didn’t get it. At least you had the courage to ask.
  8. Passing an exam.
  9. For making dinner for everyone, even though you can’t cook! 🙂
  10. Trying something new, even if you were/are not the best at it. Who cares, at least you can say you have done it and tried it. 🙂

I would really love for you all to comment below and share with us what you are proud of yourself for. If you are a bit shy about it, then maybe the thing you should be proud of, is the fact that you went out of your comfort zone and shared this out loud by writing in the comments below. I guarantee that you’ll feel better about yourself for doing it..and a little bit proud too. Go ahead, you should do. 🙂

That is a great one Katelyn, and you should be proud of yourself for that. You should also be proud of how well you can mastered the language…you are amazing at speaking German. 🙂
